These Mule deer are feeding in the snowy winter months,notice the snow stuck to their faces from feeding in deep snow.The average span in inches between a mule deer ears is 20 inches. Deer sleep for no more than 5 minutes at a time during the day in usually heavy covered bush. Distinct characteristics of mule deer is black coloring on the tail and when they run they tend to hop.
